Kathy McGrath - Kapi

KATHY MCGRATH'S BIO:

  Kathy was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in the mid-west of America.  She has been married for over thirty-five years with four children of her own and is a grandmother of five grandchildren. Kathy is a full time professional artist, who has been creating beautiful, unique art for over forty-five years. Kathy knew she always wanted to be an artist, as she took every art class possible in her high school days. She has dedicated her life pursuing her passion as an artist through her ink drawings and colorful paintings. She is a highly sought out artist whose art is gaining worldwide notoriety.

Kathy is known for her intuitive expressionistic style of art through her original ink drawings and beautiful paintings that exudes uplifting, inspiring themes and vibrant colors. She thrives on bringing happy, positive energy to all of her work. 

Kathy recently renovated her art studio by installing hardwood floors (completely by herself) and fresh new paint on the walls. She is now working on a variety of collections to add to her wide range of art. Kathy is also a Mastery Graduate of the Milan Art Institute, where she pushed herself to complete the full course in less than one year. In the future, Kathy wants to compete on the original reality show of The Outstanding Artist and travel more, to bring exciting inspiration to her stunning art.

Kathy's famous quote that she embodies is, "I create art because it makes me happy; I share my art to inspire others to be happy!"

WHY KAPI:

People ask, why I sign my art, Kapi?

While my explanation is relatively simple,

the answer has always stayed near and dear to my heart.

Many years ago, when my nieces and nephews were young, 

a majority of them could not say, 

Aunt Kathy. 

Instead, it always came out as, Aunt Kapi.

 That title resonated with me

 and forever became my signature for my art. 

Over the years, I have had a few versions

but ultimately, it stayed...

KATHY MCGRATH'S ARTIST STATEMENT:

I discovered a profound passion for art at a very young age. When I am drawing or painting, I do so out of the joy and happiness in my heart. My motivation, is for my collectors to feel that same emotion when viewing my art. My soul desire as an artist, is to inspire people to be happy, to bring a sense of joy and brightness into their worlds. I want my art to have a powerful impact with positive energy to all who collect or view my art.

MISSION: 

   kathymcgrath.art was created out the desire to inspire happiness! 

 Using vibrant colors and delightful themes, evokes many feelings and emotions. It is my wish, for all those who view my art to feel positive, happy vibes that are reflected with both the colors and subjects I paint. 

 The ultimate intention, is for the viewer to experience these feel-good sensations, brighten their day and bring great energy to their space, with my art.
